This painting was made for a solo show at DSF (D-Structure) in the Lower Haight neighborhood in San Francisco in 2013. IN addition it has been seen as part of a two-man show with Daniel Chen at for Fleet Wood’s inaugural gallery show and in Oakland for the Synchronize: A Street Art Exhibition at Warehouse 416 curated by Amaranta Colindres.
In this series, I was exploring color relationships, saturation as well as combining rendering form with detailed line work. I wanted to play with 3D versus 2D forms. This painting os a piranha skull is one of my favorites in that it shows my head over heels pursuit of pushing color saturation as far as I could go. Bordering on garish but still showing an air of restraint. SIgned on the back.
