This painting is one that I hope will lead to a larger painting series on oysters. Originally shown and sold during STUDIO Gallery’s “Tiny” Exhibit in December of 2018. Acrylic on cradled birch panel, 6 in x 6 in.

When I moved to San Francisco ten years ago, I had never had a raw oyster. Now I am a huge fan and have done many drives up the coast from my home in San Francisco to Marshall, California where the Hog Island Oyster Farm is located. They are sustainably grown and harvested. They taste like the ocean, they are incredibly celebratory and they almost overwhelmingly sensual. Commission me to paint more oysters and I shall!
